Almost 50
Well I have slightly over 1 month before the big 50th birthday. I am down to 157 so I have 7 lbs. to lose before I can hit my goal of 150 by 50! I am in my 2nd semester at GCC and just got accepted into the nursing program. A am literally starting my 3rd career after 50 as an RN. I love life and learning new thing. When I was a biology teacher my weakest area was human biology. I always said to myself "I really need to get in depth on the human body". And now I am!!!!

Belly Dancing!
I got back on the horse and now have lost 4 lbs. I am living by the 80/20 rule-eat right 80% of the time and eat what you want the other 20%. That way you aren't feeling totally deprived. I have also begun belly dancing which is so fun with my girlfriends! Don't beat yourself up if you eat something 'bad' remember the 80/20 rule.

Not off to a great start
Well Wednesday was a snow day with the kids home from school and a couple of their friends were over. I didn't get to walk, I did some stretching but honestly I ate quite a bit of food yesterday including 2 sundaes from McDonalds (love those for only 1$). Instead of beating myself up I will keep going and get back on the program!! Small changes over time lead to big changes.

Start of the Fit by 50 journey!
http://online.prevention.com/flattenyourabswithyoga/index.shtml
Here is the link to the yoga exercise to flatten the belly and I'm implementing an interval walking program starting TODAY. I am taking body conditioning (PED 171) at GCC in Batavia and have already started using the bike and treadmill for interval training. I have started yoga for stretching, flexibility and balance. Interval walking is an easy way to step up an existing exercise program.
